At some point in time, everything we see around us was designed by somebody. They toiled over it, imagining every small element, envisaging every detail until eventually, they had created perfection.

We are surrounded by objects which have been created with care, passion and pride. From a spirits bottle designed to stand out on the shelves, to a 1960’s ships horn adorning a vessel on its maiden voyage.

I’m fascinated by these items and find it a great shame that something someone spent so long creating can be so easily be tucked away, discarded or lost.

It brings me great joy in reviving and re-imaging pieces into lighting, home furnishings and statement pieces to be displayed proudly around the home.

Quite often we have items of great sentimental value to us which we would love to have out on display. However, sometimes just having them sat on the side may not fit with the rest of the rooms decor. Consequently they get tucked away, in a cupboard or the attic to collect dust.

I love creating these pieces and put a great deal of time and effort into ensuring my designs complement those of the object im basing it on. I’d love to keep all of them – unfortunately there’s only so many lamps one house can have!
